Streching on the tennis court

Every Good Idea Starts with a Good Story

During his high school years founder Liburd Germain-Sadere was very active in extracurricular programs. He played several different sports and was always intrigued to learn new ones. Every day after school he would go to Morningside Park to exercise and there was a group of kids taking tennis lessons; one day the instructor invited him to join. Germain-Sadere jumped at the chance to learn a new sport and so the coach handed him a racket, and thus his lifelong love affair with this amazing sport was launched.

Bringing the Idea to Life

Inspired by his former instructor’s positive actions, Germain-Sadere hoped to make a difference in children’s lives through Burd Tennis, Inc., founded in 2006. Burd Tennis Inc. was created to engage under-privileged youths in the Greater Miami area not only in tennis, but also academic achievement and health awareness.
